Over the weekend our little family made its way downtown to partake in the Women's March. Before we got there I really didn't know what to expect, but I was still absolutely blown away by the just how many people turned out. It's been reported that more than 20,000 people showed up! As I understand it, the numbers even shocked the event coordinators. I'm so proud of my home state coming together and support one another.

You might have already seen this photo over on my Instagram, but I wanted to share it here too. Felix is why I marched, I hope to show him that the voices of the people can be powerful. I want him to learn to be a good person, one who treats everyone with kindness and respect, to see that love does trump hate, and to be on the side of progress. I hope his generation will take what we're doing today and continue to push forward toward equality.
Did any of you all make it out to a march? If so, share links to your blog posts/photos in the comments, I'd love to see them!
