Home Tour - The Cats' Corner

I thought it would be fun to give you guys more of a look at the Cat's Corner we created in our little place (I shared a photo a week or so ago on Instagram). When we were working on fixing up the house I knew I wanted to put up some shelves for the cats. They are all about jumping up on places that they shouldn't be, so I thought I would give them a place where they could jump up and down from as much as their little hearts desired. We knew we were going to turn our little odd Arizona room into two separate rooms, a music/work room for Will and a craft room for me, and decided the new wall would be the perfect place for the shelves.

I figured I would also include a scratch post for them in the hopes they would leave our new couch alone (it's helped but they still love to be defiant, thank goodness for KittyCaps haha). It's kind of my favorite thing when I see Wigs standing on her back legs stretching up and scratching the pole up on the second shelf. I also added some of that lovely cruise ship blue carpet that use to cover almost all the floors of our place to the first shelf for some added scratching fun.

On a almost totally unrelated note I was getting tired of going through so many grocery bags (which was a lot when you scoop every morning and evening), so I bought a Litter Genie. Basically it's like a Diaper Genie but for cats and it is amazing! It holds a fair amount and most importantly it locks away the smells!! One thing I cannot stand is litter box smells, I have seriously considered trying to teach Wigs and Sylvester to use the toilet just so I wouldn't have to worry about kitty litter smells, but I have a feeling that would have backfired on me haha. Just thought I would share my experience with the Litter Genie with all you other lovely cat ladies.

  2. Aww that's a bummer to hear about the diaper genie, but good to know thanks! I'm really loving the litter genie, it's working pretty great for us!

  3. Kittycaps are the best!!! They seriously have saved our furniture for our two little furballs haha. They are just little plastic caps that you glue onto their claws that come off usually 4 - 6 weeks later when they shed their nails. Wigs isn't a fan of getting them put on and whines the whole time, but Sylvester takes it like a champ and just patiently waits for them to be put on haha.
