2014 Outfits In Review - littleladylittlecity.com

Last year I did an outfit review and had such a blast going back through all of the outfits I documented throughout the year. While I didn't take nearly as many outfits photos this year, I love all of the ones I did share. 2014 was a crazy year for us, we bought a little place and are fixing it up in Arizona, bought a first little Scamp, wrecked the said Scamp, then bought our second little Scamp. We had some super high highs and some super low lows but I wouldn't change it for the world, it made us stronger.

You know, looking at these photos I think this year was the year of hair changes for me. From bangs, to short, and then short and purple. I cannot wait to see what 2015 will bring for my hair, I'm thinking more colors, hehe. As for New Year's Eve I'm still feeling under the weather so I think we will just be relaxing at home with a movie and some popcorn, which is kind of my perfect night even if I wasn't sick.

Did you guys do a kind of year in review post, or just have some posts that you really loved from 2014? If so leave the link in the comments, I would love to check them out!

Pajama Time

Pajama Time - littleladylittlecity.com
Christmas this year, though I felt like I was going to die due to sickness, was a lot of fun. All week we watched our nephew Reid (who I am pretty sure was the "gifter" of my illness, haha), so there was lots of playing with toys, singing, and little to no work getting done. When we were kids Mom and Dad gave us PJs the night before, so on Christmas Eve I decided to reignite the tradition again. The whole family opened up the PJ bottoms you see above, and it was a big hit.

A photo posted by Amanda (@littleladylittlecity) on

Christmas day we opened our gifts, went to family friends for brunch, and then just when we were about to go out to dinner, I began to crash. Out of nowhere I suddenly had a sore throat, body aches, and a headache, which forced me to stay home while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Bleh, it was no fun. The entire next day I spent my time cuddled up with the kitties in bed "watching" Alias. Truthfully, I think I probably slept through more episodes than I actually watched. However, I have started to turn the corner, and now my only symptom is sounding like a boy going through puberty. As a treat to myself once my throat felt better, Will and I went to In n Out, and I'm pretty sure the kids working there really had keep from laughing at me while I ordered, haha.

The rest of the weekend has been pretty lazy, lots of tea drinking, and Gilmore Girls watching. It's been kind of the best. Speaking of Gilmore Girls I completely forgot they were trying to make a Jess spin off about him and his estranged father in Venice Beach, CA. They did kind of an in-show pilot to set it up towards the end of season 3. I found this little clip from that aborted pilot, and it's pretty meh, so maybe it's a good thing it didn't move forward?

Anyways, despite getting sick over Christmas it was a great deal of fun being with family and having a good time. What did you all do for Christmas?

Mulled Wine Recipe

Mulled Wine - littleladylittlecity.com
Hi, I'm Johanna, and I blog over at Our Joyful Home! I'm super excited to be here talking to all of Amanda's awesome peeps, so I'm bringing something special: Mulled wine.

I had actually never heard of mulled wine until I met my husband, who is from Manchester, England. The first time he told me about Christmas at home he talked about the Manchester Christmas Markets, and how they would go there and get mulled wine from a little booth, all surrounded by music and holiday revelry. He described it so magically, and I'm such a sucker for any type of special Christmas item, that I was dying to try it.

Over the years I've tried out a few different versions and finally settled on my own little twist on a very classic recipe. This always serves to make our Christmas a little more merry, and I hope it will do the same for you!

Ingredients:
1 bottle red wine, I usually use Merlot
3 cups unsweetened apple juice
1/4 cup honey
The zest and juice from one large orange
2 cinnamon sticks
4 whole cloves

Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce to a very light simmer for 10 minutes, then strain into mugs and enjoy! I love to garnish each mug with a cinnamon stick, it looks so pretty that way.

A note about the alcohol content: Simmering it this way means that there is almost no alcohol left. This really doesn't bother me, but if you want it to have a little more kick you can simmer all of the ingredients except the wine, and add the wine just a couple of minutes before serving, just letting it get hot. And if you're really feeling adventurous, you can add a quarter cup of brandy in with the wine at the end.

Cheers to a beautiful holiday, everyone!

Follow along all of Johanna's adventures

I don't know about you guys but I am going to get all of these ingredients and whip up a batch for Christmas Eve, because com'n that looks and sounds amazing! Thank you again Johanna for putting together such a great guest post.

Santa Claws Is Coming To Town

A video posted by Amanda (@littleladylittlecity) on

If you haven't already figured it out yet I'm one of those very nutty cat ladies, haha. I can't help it, my cat love started at a very early age as evidenced by an old home movie in which I ask Santa for a 'big fat kitty'. Unfortunately, the dream of owning my own cat didn't come true until two years ago when we got Wigs. Both my mother and brother were/are horrifically allergic to cats, and then after college my roommate already had two cats. Therefore, because it took me 28 years to get my own cat, I go all out with these silly little guys, especially during the holidays.

I swear they both love their outfits, bwhaha
Santa Claws is coming to town - littleladylittlecity.com
We put the tree up last week and less than an our later the cats both decided they needed to become ornaments, haha. Those two can get into so much trouble, but usually all I can do is laugh at them and take a picture. Do you guys do anything silly with your pets? And if you have pictures please share the link, I'd love to see them!

Holiday Pet Gift Guide

Holiday Pet Gift Guild - littleladylittlecity.com
1. Cat Grass - I don't know about your cats but both Wigs and Sylvester lose it for this stuff. There have been several times when I've found them sleeping on it haha. Not only do they love this stuff but it's also good for their bellies so it's a win win.

2. Deshedding Tool - My brother has this for their dog, Brooklyn and it is INCREDIBLE! Seriously, with the amount of hair that comes off him I could make a whole other dog, it's crazy. And as an added bonus Brooklyn loves being brushed.

3. Treats - If all else fails you can never go wrong with treats! (TemptationsDog Bone

4. Shark Bed - I feel like this one is pretty self explanatory because, honestly, how could you go wrong with a freaking shark bed for your cat/dog?!

5. Toys - Sylvester loses his little mind with the GoCat Feather Toy. It has become a tradition that when we get up in the morning Will runs around the house with the feather toy while he chases. I'm talking about Sylvester doing some parkour style moves trying to catch the feather, it's quite the show. (FrisbeeMidnight Crazies)

6. COSTUMES! - I am a firm believer that you should dress up your pets, which is why I dress up Wigs and Sylvester in holiday related costumes. Usually when buying and outfit the sales people say 'Oh, are you dressing up your dog?' I quickly respond with 'Nope my cats' and they return with 'Oh well ok.' Yup, I'm one of those nutty ladies dressing up her cats and I don't care who knows haha! (SantaElf)

7. Bark Box and Kitnip Box - While I have personally never used either of these services I have heard nothing but glowing recommendations and absolutely love the idea! Sometimes it can get a little overwhelming when you go to Petsmart with the amount of pet toys they have, so it seems like it would be really nice to get a box once a month filled with new treats for your pets to try out.

I know everyone and their mother are sharing posts about what to buy for the guys and gals in your life (I might even be sharing one or two later) but I, for one, wanted to share a little of the holiday love with my cats. I'm pretty sure I love giving the gifts to them more than they appreciate receiving them, but whatevers haha. Do you guys do anything special for your pets?

Silly Christmas Gifts Are Silly

Silly Christmas Gifts Are Silly - littleladylittlecity.com
Every year for as long as I can remember my mom had a weekly lunch with an incredibly strong and funny group of women. From this weekly tradition came the holiday tradition of 'The Ladies who Lunch Brunch." As a kid it was this magical time when mom would be gone for several hours one Sunday only to come back with wonderfully fun and creative gifts. When my mom got sick and eventually passed away this group of amazing ladies invited me to take part in this magical tradition.
Silly Christmas Gifts Are Silly - littleladylittlecity.com
Each year someone hosts the brunch and comes up with a theme of some sorts. Though they say the gifts don't have to correlate with the theme we always seem to make it happen, even if you are cursing under your breathe as you walk down the aisle of a target trying to find something that works. For me, this year the cursing was greater than usual. Will and I made it back to Arizona from West Virginia only two days prior to the brunch, and the month leading up to our departure was filled with a crazy stupid amount of roto work. Driving the hour + distance from our mountain to the closest store just wasn't in the cards, either. Therefore, pretty much the day before the brunch I was at Target trying desperately to find something music related that wouldn't just be a waste of money or something these ladies would have no use for. I was getting ready to just give up and leave with some wonderfully scented candles for everyone when I saw an adorable nativity set and Will had a stroke of genius. He suggested that I make little instruments for each of the characters and place them on each candle. Haha!

I am so happy with how these little guys turned out and they seemed to be a pretty big hit with all the ladies, so double yay! What was your favorite silly gift to make or give away?

Holiday Outfit with Zappos

Holiday Fashion with Zappos, Freebird, and Paige Jeans - littleladylittlecity.com
In partnership with Zappos I styled my new Paige jeans and Freebird boots with what I consider to be my perfect holiday outfit. While to I absolutely love getting all gussied up for a fancy holiday party, probably my favorite holiday parties are a little more casual. In my opinion these Paige jeans and Freebird boots are perfect for those occasions.

I am so in love with just how wonderfully comfy Paige jeans are, they pride themselves in making "live-in jeans" and let me attest to how true that is. I am such a fan of wonderfully comfy jeans that look really sharp and can be both dressed up and down. Pairing them with vintage Americana inspired Freebirds boots that are hand crafted really takes them up a notch as well.
Holiday Fashion with Zappos, Freebird, and Paige Jeans - littleladylittlecity.com
Zappos is one of my favorite online retailers because they have a wide selection of shoes, clothing, accessories, and more. Living in the middle of nowhere for half the year can make it a little difficult to find the perfect outfit for any occasion, but with their killer selection and amazing 365 return policy you don't have to worry about something not working. Heck, even when we are in Arizona during the winter you can find me ordering from Zappos rather than shlepping over to the local mall.

Now that I have my perfect outfit all ready I just need to prepare my stomach for all the wonderfully amazing foods I know I will be eating so very soon!!

Cruising Down the Road

1. Woke up from our first night of camping to a winter wonderland. Driving in snow is no fun, especially when towing a camper.
2. So happy we only had to drive a couple of hours in the snow until we were out of it.
3. The kikis in the parked camper enjoying sleep while not driving down bumpy roads.
4. Sylvester using Will's hip as a stool to help him see out the window better.
5. Enjoy all the Christmas lights outside a restaurant in Dallas. They sure know how to decorate their trees.

We made it safe and sound to Dallas where we are getting a couple days of relaxation/eating way too much delicious food/running around with five girls all under the age of ten, before heading out on the last leg of our journey back to Phoenix. I always have so much fun hanging out with my extended family during the Thanksgiving week. What did you all do over Thanksgiving?

Custom Illustration

Creature Type Custom Illustration - littleladylittlecity.com
For Will's birthday gift this year I commission the the extremely skilled and talented Michelle who blogs over at Creature Type to do an illustration of us and the cats. I thought it would be really wonderful to have a custom piece hanging on our wall at our little place in Phoenix, and honestly I couldn't think of anyone better than Michelle to make it for us. Just as I knew she would, Michelle completely surpassed my expectations! I mean she completely nailed Wigs and Sylvester personalities.  I seriously couldn't imagine anything better to give to Will for his 30th birthday!

I don't think I can express just how happy I am with how this bad boy came out. Seriously, if any of you guys are looking to get an illustration, talk to Michelle!

You're Killing Me Roto

Officer of the Law - littleladylittlecity.com
Oh my goodness I feel like I have been MIA! Work has been seriously all consuming. Truth time: I have pretty much just been living in my PJs and my dinosaur sweatshirt. For the past week all I've been doing is making myself a HUGE cup of coffee than sitting myself in front of the computer for 10+ hours doing roto work, which is just so painstakingly boring. So that is what I have been up to for the past week and a half, but I'm hoping to be able to finish up some posts I've been working on later today so it's not so quite around here. Until then please enjoy the above photo of Sylvester, because it's kind of the best.

Scamp 2.0

1975 Scamp Travel Trailer - littleladylittlecity.com
Unfortunately, I totally didn't have a chance to work on this week's Fancies. Work seriously has been so insane. This time last year we pretty much didn't have any major jobs on the horizon and just enjoyed our trip back to AZ. This year we've booked two major jobs within days of each other, so we have been glues to our computers (my eyes are definitely not happy with me). Instead of missing another posting day I thought I would share with you something else that has been taking a lot of our time: our new Scamp!

We were lucky enough to find the craigslist ad for her before she was scooped up, and even more lucky that Will's parents were willing to go and check her out for us since it was for sale back in DE, haha. We are so excited to have a little Scamp again. Scamp 2.0 is a 1974 and despite being 40 years old is in pretty good shape structurally. She just needs some some TLC which we are currently doing. We're completely redoing the inside, and I am sure there will be some before and after photos making an appearance on here in the coming weeks.

Fall Fashion with Zappos, Freebird & Pagie

Fall Fashion with Zappos, Freebird & Pagie - littleladylittlecity.com
In partnership with Zappos I styled my new Paige jeans and Freebird boots into my absolute perfect fall outfit. This fall has been a bit of an odd one weather wise, I mean one day it's warm and the next day it's freezing (Fall, you been boozin?), but no matter what the crazy weather is doing you can't go wrong with a pair of classic skinny jeans and boots.
Fall Fashion with Zappos, Freebird & Pagie - littleladylittlecity.com
Half the year Will and I live in rural West Virginia, so getting new clothes isn't the easiest thing to do. Our closet store/mall is one state over! So that's where Zappos steps in and keeps me stylish even if it's only for Will, the cats, and the deer, haha. And I never have to worry about not liking how something fits because Zappos has a totally amazing 365 day free return policy. There's nothing worse than trying on something you bought online, hating it, and then having to pay to return it. Talk about adding salt the the wound.
Fall Fashion with Zappos, Freebird & Pagie - littleladylittlecity.com
boots // Freebird
jeans // Paige

I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only lady who feels like once the temperature starts to drop it's time to break out some boots which is why I am so excited to add these amazing Freebird boots to my collection. Freebird prides themselves on using carefully selected materials, which I really like, and their extreme attention to detail with the final product totally shows. Also, they look pretty darn adorable paired with these Paige denim, if I do say so myself. As some who works in front of a computer most days I am such a sucker for a good quality pair of live-in jeans that I can rock pretty much from morning to moonlight.

What I'm Watching

Every so once in a while I have shared a movie review or even a list of my favorite holiday related things to watch, and I've really enjoyed writing them. Because we work from home on things that don't require sound we will watch tv shows or movies throughout the day. So, as a combination of those two things, I've decided to start a new reoccurring little series in which I talk about what I'm currently watching. I'm talking ones I'm loving, guilty pleasures, and even the ones I'm still on the fence with. To kick this new series off I'm going to share a show I am so in love with: A to Z.
What I'm Watching A to Z - littleladylittlecity.com
Ok before you roll your eyes at me, let me just tell you I am such a sucker for romantic comedies. I don't know why but even really bad ones can get me all teary eyed (they know the way to my heart strings I guess). But there is something more than that when it comes to A to Z. It's so well written, funny, and the characters/actors are incredibly likable. It's a credit to the extremely talented Ben Feldman (Mad Men, Drop Dead Diva guilty please, hehe) and Christin Milioti (the mother from HIMYM). While both their characters are a little on the extreme sides of their personalities (him a super romantic and her a super realist) it works without feeling like they are just parodies of real people.
What I'm Watching A to Z - littleladylittlecity.com
This show also uses the secondary characters so well. One of my pet peeves is having a group of secondary charters that are just there to be the punchline or just for the sake of it, but A to Z's second string have purpose and help to move the story forward. They're pretty darn hilarious along the way. I love this show so much that I make it our lunch break show so I won't be distracted by anything else.

Another thing that I love about this show (which might be the weirdest reason to like a show) is the opening credits, which are incredibly beautiful. Maybe it's because I have an idea of just how much work went into creating it, but I just can't get over the style and details in it. The popup alphabet is just perfect with the zooming into each corresponding letter in the episode name. Now, you might be wondering why I shared the entire pilot episode. Two reasons: one is I think I am one of the few people who love the opening because I can't seem to find any video of just the opening, so I had to go to extreme lengths to make it available for you. The second is I think you should really just watch the whole episode. It's amazing.
(source)
This show is totally on the bubble of being canceled but I really hope NBC gives it a chance, I mean, Parks and Rec wasn't as good and had some not so great ratings it's first season too and look at the amazing show it became. I really think the lack of viewers doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the show but rather its time slot. It's up against the juggernauts that are Thursday Night Football and Scandal. Whether or not you like the show keep your fingers crossed for me because I will be one unhappy camper if this delightful weekday treat gets canceled. Welp the show got cancled over the weekend. Excuse me while I go drown my sorrows in 1/2 priced Halloween candy.

YAY! Now I can eat my 1/2 priced Halloween candy the way it's meant to be eaten with gleeful joy!

1 // I just had to share it again because it's too perfect. Every morning for the past couple of weeks Will has been taking Sylvester outside and running around with him and it's just about the cutest thing ever. But this weekend was so cold and wet we had to stop, and he is one little unhappy camper. Thankfully, next week is suppose to be warmer so we he can frolic once again outside.

2 // Sylvester checking out the pumpkin, I think he thinks that we bought it as a new toy for him, haha.

3 // Wigs just being the sassiest queen on the mountain.

4 // Will looking as if he is posing for an oil painting and looking super handsome while doing so. Swoon.

5 // My allergies were really acting up yesterday so I took a Benadryl, and was out for the count for a couple of hours, so Sylvester joined in my downstairs napping. Does Benadryl knock anyone else out? I seriously feel like a zombie after taking one, but it does stop me from sneezing and having to blow my nose every 30 seconds.

How was everyones weekend?

5 Favorite Halloween Hits

Being that we live up on a mountain in the middle of nowhere we don't have any friends near by, so Halloween parties and trick or treaters are kind of off the list. So rather than getting all dressed up and hanging out with people or handing out candy I make Will we get comfy on the couch and enjoy way too many hours of my favorite Halloween movies/specials while eating candy! With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to share what we watch with you all just incase you all are planning a night in on Halloween as well.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch
I have always been obsessed with both the movie and the show. I mean c'mon who the heck didn't wish they were a witch with a taking cat?! I remember my younger self watching this and being absolutely mesmerized wishing I could be as cool as Sabrina in high school. Or at the very least be as fashionable, hehe. Also, can we just take a moment to recognize a super young and a little goofy looking Ryan Reynolds! Talk about super swoon worthy for this 11-12 year old, haha.
Hocus Pocus
Oh my word everything about this movie is wonderful, Bette Milder, Max (what a early 90's dream boat), magic, the costumes, the "I Put A Spell On You" sequence, humor that went way over my head as a kid, and a talking cat! This is one of those movies I have to watch more than just on Halloween because once a year is never enough.
5 Favorite Halloween Hits - littleladylittlecity.com
The Witches
This movie scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid, and truth be told it still totally does, but I absolutely love it. As a kid I loved everything terrifying even if I was scared to go to bed without being completely covered by my blankets and every stuffed animal I had. They totally had super powers to keep me safe from all the things that go bump in the night, haha.
Garfield's Halloween Adventure
Ok, so are you guys starting to notice a trend of talking cats yet? Haha. What can I say I was seriously obsessed with cats even at a young age. My brother use to love Garfield and pretty much had Garfield everything (including a Garfield phone, which I still have), so the cartoon was a big hit in our household, and this VHS tape was a even bigger hit every Halloween after trick or treating.
The Simpsons Treehouse or Horrors
While growing up these episodes were a real treat because some years we would miss it and if you missed it you missed it. Kids these days with the internet and DVRs have no idea how lucky they are, haha. I remember a couple years putting trick or treating on hold just long enough to watch the episode before heading out again.

There you have it, our Halloween day/evening binge watching extravaganza! What are some of your favorite things to watch on All Hollows Eve?

4 Ways To Dress Up S'mores

4 Ways To Dress Up S'mores - littleladylittlecity.com
Two years ago we built a fire pit that we use and enjoy every fall, and of course we all know what goes hand in hand with a late afternoon fire: s'mores! Anytime friends visit I always make sure to have all the ingredients for a good s'more on hand. Recently though, I've started to experiment with the normal recipe (gram crackers, chocolates, and marshmallows), so I thought it would be fun to share my new favorite combos so far.
4 Ways To Dress Up S'mores - littleladylittlecity.com
1. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - I've always been a fan of the chocolate peanut butter combo, so it was a no brainer to replace the regular chocolate bar with a cup and take it to the next level. I am a firm believer that you can add peanut butter to just about anything and make it even more tasty: Oreos, waffles, vanilla wafflers just to name a few.

2. Kit Kat - Kit Kats are probably my favorite candy. Give me a frozen bar and I am one happy camper. I actually bought a whole bunch of them for s'mores at our wedding and totally didn't get one before they ran out, so I have feeling everyone else really loved them too, haha. I'm pretty sure you can use any chocolate candy and it will turn out pretty darn tasty.

3. Banana - Have you ever tired the magic that is a cooked banana?! You get this amazing rich, sweet, extra strength banana taste. Pair it up with chocolate, gram crackers, and a marshmallow and you are in for a treat.

4. Nutella - Replacing the chocolate with a smear of this delightful hazelnut spread and you'll be set. If you're feeling adventurous, add a banana and some peanut putter with it as well. Toast with Nutella, peanut butter, and banana is one of my favorite treats, so imagine how amazing that would taste as a s'more!
4 Ways To Dress Up S'mores - littleladylittlecity.com
Of course I had to make a little gif of the different s'mores hehe. What are some of the ways you love to dress up your s'mores? I'm always looking for new delicious ways to make my s'mores even tastier.

Coat Days

littleladylittlecity.com
Monday we were able to take off work to celebrate Will's 30th birthday, so we went to the fancy theater (Alamo Drafthouse) about an hour away and enjoyed Gone Girl with a delicious dinner. It was so good and filling that we ended up not actually eating dinner that night haha. If you happen to live near an Alamo Drafthouse theater I highly recommend you go see a movie and treat yourself to something on their menu, I have a feeling you won't be disappointed. After the movie we came back to the mountain and I whipped up Will's birthday treat: butterscotch pudding and some cookie dough, haha. We are going back to Delaware to visit with Will's parents before we head back to Arizona at the end of Novemeber, so Will's mom will go a head and make him a birthday cake. It's a tradition she loves, so we make a point to do it with her.

I am SO in love with this outfit. Not only is it just ridiculously comfortable, but I feel like it looks really well put together too. This top is definitely fancier than just a normal t-shirt which helps to dress up the jeans. This is my very simple attempt at layering, and by layering I mean wearing a coat over an outfit haha. I think the only thing that's missing is a necklace, but sadly I left pretty much all my jewelry back in AZ. I guess that just means I need to get some more :)

Must Haves For Bridesmaids

Must Haves For Bridesmaids - Little Lady Little City
dress // shoes // shawl // earrings // rings // BB Cream // mascara // lips

The lovely people over at Weddington Way contacted me about putting together my perfect bridesmaids outfit, so of course I jumped at the chance. They have so many wonderful selections and colors that everyone is sure to find a dress that they love. As some of you may know, when it came to my wedding, I didn't want to force one style on my bridesmaids because I wanted them all to love what they we wearing. Instead, I gave them the wedding's color pallet and told them to go find a dress in any style they like. Not only did they all look amazing, but they were able to choose pieces that they totally still wear.

Dress - The Aubrey is a cute little number with a little sass and a whole lot of wow. I think the thing that pushed me over the top with this little lady was the pockets. I LOVE dresses with pockets, it's just super cute and practical.

Shoes - When I go to a wedding I want to make sure I'm either wearing or have an extra pair of comfy flats for all the booty shaking I'm going to be doing. And these little glitter flats are super cute. I would totally pair them with some jeans for a casual day out.

Shawl - It can get chilly as the night goes on, so a shawl is always a must, and this guy is so freaking cute. Not only would it look amazing with this dress, but freaking adorable with just about anything else.

Earring - Cute little unique earrings, need I say more?

Rings - I've always been a big fan of big bold rings, and this is the perfect way to throw in some of your own style without clashing with the rest of the outfit. Just something fun.

BB Cream - I love this stuff, it gives a nice coverage without making it look like you have something caked on your face. And having SPF 30 is definitely an added bonus.

Mascara - This is my favorite mascara, cheap and goes on great. What more can you really ask for?

Lips - Love this balm stain, it goes on silky smooth and adds a delightful pop of color.

So what do you think of my look? Is there anything you would add or do differently?

Spooky Days on Mountain Tops

Spooky Days on Mountain Tops - Little Lady Little City
Well I'm going to say it looks like fall is a little confused this year up here on the mountain. We have been going from 70+ degree days to low 50 degree days within a matter of twenty four hours, haha. I feel like last fall it was far more gradual of a temperature dip and little to no jumping back up, but I guess it does make for some more excitement and crazy looking days like the one above. That image was taken at almost 1 in the afternoon, making our apple picking adventure very spooky. My first reaction was totally that we somehow ended up in Silent Hill, haha. It does make me want to get a hot cup of tea and put on a scary movie or maybe just watching every episode of Are You Afraid Of The Dark!

What are some of your favorite ways to spend a spooky looking day?

Grey Skies And Bright Cardigans

The weather hasn't quite made up it's mind up here on the mountain yet, one day it's warm, the next it's very cold, then rainy, then the perfect crisp fall day. Even with the weather being a little confused things are definitely looking like fall. Our drives up and down the mountain are filled with wonderful  smatterings of reds, oranges, and yellows. It definitely makes that long drive more enjoyable.

I'm not sure why my hair in these pictures doesn't look purple, I had actually just reapplied the color, so it's currently quite purple, haha oh well. Hopefully the next outfit post I can have the hair once again be the shining star of the photos. Anyways I got this hat while I was in Portland and I'm so in love with it. I've been looking for a good comfy brown hat to rock, so I was thrilled when I found it. I have a feeling it will be making many, many appearance on the blog for the foreseeable future.

I found these jeans also in Portland and am pretty darn smitten with them as well. I love polka dots and I also love jeans, so it was pretty much meant to be that I would love these polka dot jeans. Plus they were totally on sale! Score! They also have a little bit of a stretch in them which is definitely a bonus.

I am pretty sure from now on every outfit post is going to include and silly picture or two of my cats. I just can't help it, they are too cute not to take a million pictures of them (I will do my best to not inundate you with that too often haha).
