Plaid and Stripes

Sylvester is getting so big and freaking adorable, but he doesn't like to sit long enough for photos because he has far too much energy. We've started taking them on walks in the morning to try to tucker them out a little. Otherwise I think they would just be bouncing off the walls haha.

The weather is so wonderful up here on the mountain, nice and crisp, so I finally get to start breaking out the warm hats and long sleeves. I recently have been trying my hand a layering. I'm going the baby steps route and still have a long way to go before I actually master it. I have so much respect for people who are able to layer things and look amazing. I mean, it's a fine line between making your layering look effortless and trying way too hard.
I've seen people in the past layering a maxi dresses with button up shirts so I thought I would give it a go, and I really like how it turned out. Not only was it super comfy, but I thought it added a little extra pop to the dress. I have a feeling this is going to be something I rock while we travel out west in a couple weeks. I'm always on the search for the most comfy of things to wear in a car that aren't just my pjs (which I totally have worn in the past, but I always get strange looks at the gas stations haha). I'm all about just getting up and going when we have 9 hour driving days ahead of us.

As I mentioned before tomorrow we are head back to DE for Will's birthday! We have a wonderful yearly tradition of going out for food and drinks with our friend Shaye, at this really great Mexican restaurant. I seriously cannot wait for some yummy food and margaritas!

  5. Your kitty is so cute! I love that first photo of you two together, and those are really fun glasses. Pretty photos- great outfit. I hear ya- I always want to be comfy on road trips but not wear pj's for pit stops and arriving at the destination. This looks like the perfect solution!

  7. I adore that mustard hat. It's not quite cool enough here for hats and scarves yet, but yours makes me all excited for when it is.
