Good Times

Oops I did a little disappearing act last week, I think I was having a little too much fun on our little adventure. I actually didn't even read any blogs while we were out in DE so I have a lot of catching up to do tonight.
I think this was margarita number 5 hehe.
Will's birthday was a lot of fun! As I mentioned before we have a tradition of coming back to DE to spend it with his parents. The night before go out to a Mexican restaurant with our friend Shaye, and then to a scary movie. For the past three years that scary movie has been one of the Paranormal Activity sequels which progressively got worse with each one. Regardless it was our tradition and we always had a blast. Sadly, this year there was no Paranormal Activity movie so we ended up seeing Carrie. It was pretty bad, but watching it a little drunk made it bearable.
On Will's actual birthday we took a nice bike ride down to the beach and then spent the afternoon carving pumpkins while enjoying a banana cake with salted carmel frosting. This cake is wonderful but fair warning the frosting is darn rich. I really love getting to try out new recipes and Will is seriously the best person to make them for because he love everything I make, even if it comes out a little off. He is greatest!
Pumpkin carving is all kinds of amazing, I mean who doesn't love to carve pumpkins?! I think it might be absolutely official that I am a little too obsessed with my cats as I decided it would be fun to carve Halloween versions of them haha! It's not the best carving in the world for sure (Wigs has a witch hat on and Sylvester is wearing a ghost sheet), but I had a lot of fun making it.

Do you guys have any birthday traditions?

Happy Monday!

x's and o's

  2. You should seriously give that recipe a try because it is beyond AMAZING!!

  3. Looks like so much fun!! Also that cake looks very photogenic, LOL. I'm tempted to try stuff like that but I think it might come out looking like a mutant pancake.

  4. Happy birthday, Will! I hope your day was spectacular.

I think you are lucky that Will likes all of your recipes you try out on him. I'm almost 30 and I don't know how to cook or bake very well, and I'm nervous to begin even trying because my husband is an educated chef and is very critical of food he eats. :( I would be embarrassed to put any of my food in front of him.

  5. Happy Birthday, Will!

This sounds like you had a good time! We had a tradition that we wanted to make happen, but sadly it hasn't. My birthday last year, we went to Seattle and for my husband's, we went to Kelowna. This year we didn't do anything because we spent all our money on our wedding LOL

  6. Happy birthday, Will! I always try to get away for a birthday. Even if it's just to a neighboring town.

    That cake looks so yummy!

  7. Happy birthday to your fellow! That cake omg... it looks so tasty! Also: the pumpkins are hilarious.
