Green Explosion (Greenhouse Update)

Anytime we leave for an extended period of time we are excited to get back to see what our greenhouse looks like. It's always one of the first things we do once we walk in the door, I don't think there is anything better than coming home to a greenhouse explosion!
While there wasn't too much in terms of harvestable veggies this time, there are a lot of things that should be ready in the upcoming weeks. I'm ridiculously excited for the corn to be ready. Is it silly that I never really realized that you could grow your own corn? I have no idea why I thought that, but it was stuck in my head until I came across corn seeds at the store. I think I shouted to Will something like "Hey did you know we can grow our own corn?!" haha!
One thing that we were not expecting to find in the greenhouse was a snake skin, eeeek! We didn't do a very good job of getting rid of the them from our greenhouse. I think they have decided to officially move in which I'm not too happy about, especially because we just keep finding their skin and actually haven't seen them. Double ugh! I would seriously like to be able to garden with out fear of snakes.

How are all of your gardens doing? I would love to see pictures so be sure to share your links in the comments.

  1. Oh mah goodness. That snake skin is freakin' huge!!!

Your greenhouse looks amazing. I can't say the same for our garden this year. But, what we've lacked in tomatoes we made up for in apples! Our apples trees' branches are going to break if we don't pick them soon...

  2. I have snake issues out on my property creepy! Have you looked into getting some snake repellant? It contains cinnamon and clove oil, which deters them. I put some out every summer around my house and it seems to keep them at bay. :) Worth a shot, maybe? Bonus: It smells like spice cake! haha!

  3. I had no idea there was such a thing as snake repellant! I'm going to have to look into that, especially if it smells like spice cake!! Thanks so much for the heads up.

  4. Your greenhouse looks amazing! I knew you could grow corn, but never really realized it was possible without sprawling fields! Now I see people planting it in raised beds all around the city! I hope the snakes move out soon. That would give me the creepy crawlies!

  5. We grew corn this year too! My husband was hesitant, because corn is pretty cheap (especially here in the midwest) but it's just so cool! We only got one very tiny ear of corn though. But that doesn't mean we aren't definitely trying again next year! I've thought about building a greenhouse, yours is fantastic.

  6. Holy cow! It really did explode! Such a big difference since the beginning of the season!

  7. Thats crazy!!! My dads got a mini green house going but it looks nothing like yours! LOL

  8. The green explosion is really awesome but I'm pretty sure if I walked in and saw that snake skin I'd immediately walk back out and never return!

  9. What an amazing difference, but gross snakeskin.. eeeewwwwww
