And Now Without Further Ado...

Yup this is a cat post. If you have been following me on instagram than you already seen this adorable face, but for everyone else this is Sylvester our newest kitty addition!

Will and I had been talking about going to the SPCA after we got back from our trip to see if any of the cats would be a nice fit for our little family. We've been thinking that that Wigs could use a friend to hangout with.

So while driving back from the airport after our redeye we saw this little guy run out into the middle of the intersection! He was so scared and confused about which way to run that he just hunkered down in the middle of a lane! We quickly pulled over and jumped out of the car then ran over to him as cars were just passing him. I couldn't believe that no one stopped to get him. We scooped him up and brought him back to him home with us.

We've given him a couple of baths, plenty of food, and lots of love and he seems to be flourishing now. By the second day he was purring up a storm, I'm talking about purrs so loud they remind me of a chainsaw. It's funny that something so little could make such a loud noise, haha.

Today we took him in for his first vet visit, and while he has some minor illnesses, he is otherwise doing great. I cannot wait for him to get all better so he can meet Wigs (looks like that won't be for another month). They accidentally met the other day, when the bathroom door didn't get shut completely, and Wigs reacted with a lot of hissing. I mean who can blame her, she was just minding her own business walking around the house and here was this little guy sitting on the steps just outside the bathroom like he owned the place haha. Hopefully the next introduction (the official one) will go over a lot better.

I'm sure there are going to be a lot more pictures of this handsome little gentleman so be prepared, hehe.

  6. Oh my gosh I love Sylvester. My husband found our new kitty on the side of the road near woods two weeks ago. My dear cat Milo passed away a bit before that, and I'm so grateful I can help another baby cat.

  8. Oh my gosh he is so cute!!! I am also a cat rescuer and come from a long line of cat ladies. Good for you for taking him in. Its funny how cats just come into your life.... they are so wonderful. Best of luck with the first introduction. When I first introduced my little kitten to our older cat these was hissing and they were not pleased with each other. But as time has gone by they became closer and closer and now they eat out of the same food bowl at the same time....even though there are 2 bowls.... cute!

  9. He's so adorable and SO lucky to have you guys. I would have done the exact same thing as well, how could anyone leave him there :(

I brought home my second one two years ago and was very nervous how she'd get along with Milo (who I'd had for 4 years already as an only cat). There was hissing there too but it didn't take long for them to become buddies. I only let them be together when I was around to supervise for the first couple of weeks. Once I was sure that they would be okay together on their own they had free reign. Matilda (the little one) is a bit of a drama queen and squeals like she's being murdered when they play sometimes. I used to freak out at first but quickly came to learn that she was antagonizing Milo and totally asking to be chased :)

I hope Wigs and Sylvester become the best of friends! I still think it's the sweetest thing ever when I catch them grooming each other. Two is definitely better than one!

  15. awww.. he's so cute!! Also, I think it's amazing that you rescued him from the street. One time while I was driving I saw a turtle trying to cross the road so I stopped and picked him and put him on the grass. I didn't want to risk someone running over him.
