Wash Those Blues Aways

The last couple of days I've been feeling all kinds of mopey, the type of mopey that starts off with one thing then spirals downword about a hundred other things. It started off with mainly missing friends (one in particular) then somehow ended with how I am a horrible grocery shopper (which I don't think is actually true), but that spiral can be pretty sneaky with how you feel about things. So today to help cheer myself up I decided to get dressed and do my hair like I was leaving the mountain to go somewhere fun, and it actually helped quite a bit. It's kind of funny how little things can help you out when you are upset.
I got this shirt years ago and still absolutely love it, especially it's ridiculously tiny and not practical little pocket. Will and I have a running joke about pocket bunnies, and yes that is just what it sounds like. Maybe the little pocket is just ahead of it's time and waiting for pocket bunnies to become a reality, haha.
tank // Forever 21
cardigan // Target (I am in desperate need of new cardigans! Where do you all get yours?)
shorts // my dads
shoes // Keds
Summer is here? That question mark is not a mistake, the weather up on the mountain has been acting more like winter weather than summer. I am talking about 40's and 50's for the past week. Then today it jumped up to the low 80's and muggy, so maybe that means summer is here?
On a completely unrelated note, you know when you have a codependent cat when you can't be outside for more than two minutes without her mewing at the top of her lungs for you to come get her, haha. But c'mon how can you say no to that little face? Anyway, she kind of took over the little photo shoot so get ready for some daily style "cat" addition coming at you riiiight now.
With this little nutter butter and her silliness how could I feel blue for too long? She is kind of my favorite, next to Will of course. Definitely feeling a little better now, hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling even better.

What are some of the ways you help get yourself over the blues?

I think this was her way of telling me she's done with the photo shoot. What a little sassy pants haha.

  1. I love your outfit :) I get almost all of my cardigans from Goodwill or Target. Right now, I am making myself avoid the grey sweater section of Goodwill because I always find one that I love and definitely don't need anymore!

When I'm feeling blue, I scroll through the humor section of Pinterest. That always cheers me up. Or, when I get home from work, I'll go out to our garden and tidy up.

  2. My cat does what Wigs is doing in the last photo, ALL the time! I wish she was as well behaved as yours.

When I'm feeling blue I just go and browse some blogs, and posts like these make me feel better!

  3. Adorbs! To get over the blues lately, I've been watching old episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway. The one with Robin Williams is my favourite. Also, I get my cardigans usually at Old Navy or H&M.

  4. Dressing up and taking photos/walks does wonders or allowing yourself a mope/lazy day! I thought it was summer here since it was in the 80s & 90s.. then it rained. haha

I loveeeeee those pictures. Pretty :)

  5. This is so cute! I know that spirally mopey oh too well. I have been really trying to throw myself into pojects so that I can feel accomplished to get over the mopes, but sometimes that is easier said than done! ;) I do think a real dose of summer sunshine would help us both! Portland has been really holding on the the rainy season this year and I am over the grey skies! ;)

  9. very cute outfit, i get my cardigans at target or modcloth - they are the perfect size and fit just right.

we have been having the same weather here in NY - it was actually 39 this past Saturday, then today it was in the 80's and muggy/humid. Our weather has been super wonky

as for the mopes - i wish i could help, i've been having a bad few days myself..just feeling cranky and sorry for myself and stressed. i usually try to crochet or watch random movies on netflix..it's a temporary fix, but it helps a little.

  10. Hope you feel better! I try to do things that I know make me feel good like watching my favorite movie or taking baths. Usually those perk me up.

  12. Sorry to hear you were down the dumps. It happens to the best of us. I'm trying REALLY hard to be positive lately, but it's not always easy to maintain it. I love the idea of getting all dolled up to make yourself feel better. I'll try that out next time!

    Stay happy, pal. xo
