Apple Blossoms

'Tis the season for apple blossom! This is one of my favorite times of the year, when the apple trees are really coming back to life and are full of the beautiful blossoms. Last year was actually the first year Will and I were up here to see the trees in bloom. Every year prior we either were up here at all during this time, or there were no blossoms at all. The saddest years are when you get a late frost and it kills all the blossoms before they get a chance to bloom.
Will got these amazing shots the other day after we got back from our walk. We are pretty lucky to have these beauties in our backyard. Sometimes it's hard to believe that all of these lovely flowers will be apples in a matter of months. Is it weird/sad that I have already started scouring the web for apple related recipes? I already have my staples which include apple pie and apple cinnamon pancakes, but we end up with so many apples there are enough to try out new things.
I just had to include this photo of all the yellow flowers. I can hardly believe I am lucky enough to have these right outside our back door. I'm going to be so sad when they are gone, but for now I'm soaking them up.  What are some of the things you are loving this spring?

  1. I can't seem to get over Wigs on a leash - so cute!

I'm loving the warmer weather here, and seeing trees and flowers bloom. I wish I could see apple blossoms here. I've went apple picking before, but the trees are just full of apples, not blossoms. Maybe one day~

    1. I kind of love dandelions. I always feel bad when I see people picking/killing them, they are just so pretty.

  3. Love your pics.
I'm loving the light from the sun at this time of year, that the trees are all filled with green, birds singing, things blooming, gardening... all of it. Love it all!

    1. I will hopefully be making another post soonish. The sad thing is we haven't done too much to the house since the last one. Such is the life of building your own house I guess haha.

    1. Haha yes we do walk our cat! We luck out that there aren't any dogs or other people really for that matter around us so we don't have to worry about here being too scared.

I can hardly wait for Thursday! Eeee! Thanks so much for stopping by!

    1. Daffodils! Color me jealous! My husband's parents have some growing in at there house out in DE but we don't have any here. I'm not sure if they would grow up here, but I might just have to try because I do love them so much!

  8. I am so freaking jealous of your blossoms!! We have none. We just had our first warm days this weekend, so I'm hoping that means blossoms are on their way. I cannot wait. Even though they give me allergies, it will be totally worth it. TOTALLY WORTH IT!!

    Happy recipe hunting. xo

  9. Absolutely beautiful! I love the smell of apple blossoms, it's so delicate and not overwhelming. There's a wisteria tree in our neighbors back yard that has made our entire block smell like flowers. It's pretty incredible, but at times maybe a little TOO flowery-smelling.

  10. Every time I see you walk your cat I feel jealous.. My cat just hates that harness... She is so rambunctious and then the moment I put it on her she just flops to the side and plays dead... So melodramatic. lol

  11. These apple blossoms are gorgeous! I used to have an apple tree when I was a kid and it always smelled so lovely. I've since moved on to peach trees which have the prettiest pink flowers, so they are definitely one of my favourite things about spring! My other favourites are cool breezes, birds singing and all the colourful flowers. I'm also super smitten with your cat on a leash. That is the cutest thing I've ever seen!
