10 Year High School Reunion Say Whaaat?

(source)
Guys I can hardly believe I am actually saying this, but my 10 year high school reunion is this November! I have been out of high school for a decade now and I still have a hard time believing it. Really, it feels like only a couple years ago I was rolling out of bed five minutes before I had to leave and putting on my uniform, throwing my hair up in a bun and heading off to school. It's really weird how time seems to have flown by so quickly.

I'm pretty excited/nervous about the reunion. Excited to show Will around my alma mater, and to see all the new buildings they have built since I was there (I seriously think it's about five or so haha). Nervous about seeing everyone. The sad truth is I don't talk to half the people I hung out with back then; either lost contact or had a falling out/they chose the other person's side in said falling out. But I am sure it will be lots of fun catching up with the people I just lost touch with, and I have a feeling the night will be filled with laughter with Will by my side.

So have any of you guys hit your 10 year reunion yet? Did you go? Was it fun?

  1. Oh, you're lucky you can go to yours! I missed mine because I was in Prague for a two week class that was part of my Library Science graduate program. I was REALLY proud of that. Even though I wasn't thrilled about being single at the time, I kept thinking hey, I really DID create the life I wanted!

I hear the reunion was a picnic at a park where everyone showed off their babies. Weird!

  3. Oy, don't remind me! I graduated ten years ago this June. I actually havent heard anything about a reunion yet... you would think someone would take care of that. Oh well.

  4. Mine is this year. I don't think there is actually any reunion going on. Which is fine. I see a lot of those folks c=imagined lives through Facebook. I visited for a memory day of sorts a few years back and ran into old classmates. Most were...um...unchanged in a way that I don't really miss being around them all day.

  6. I didn't go to my reunion, either 10 or 20 years. I decided that I already saw the people I wanted to see on a fairly regular basis, so there was no reason to.

That didn't stop me from Facebook stalking the pictures later though ;D

  7. My reunion will be in 2016, and my one good friend that I still know from high school is adamant that she doesn't want to go. I live on the other side of the country now, so I'm not sure I'll go either without her, that and thanks to facebook I'm not too worried about connecting with everyone.

  9. Time just goes by so quickly! I didn't attend my 10 year because I'm still in close contact with my good friends from high school. I think I will drag my husband to my 20 year though :). I've got a few years before I hit that milestone. Have fun!

  10. It's been more like thirty for me, and there's no way I'd ever go to one!

  11. Wow, I know how exciting/super weird that feeling is! Mine was last year and I suddenly felt so old and so strange that it had really been so long! I didn't end up going for a few reasons - mostly because I live 3,000 miles away and I just didn't really enjoy high school so I didn't feel like I was dying to get back there.

Is yours at your school? Is that where they usually are? Our organization was kind of a hot mess..it was like in the back of a sports bar in Philadelphia that was still totally opened to the public and it had a really expensive cover. It seemed kind of odd.

  12. Hmmm, I am nearing the ten year mark. I think I am at seven years now? I graduated at 17 and now I am 24 so I guess that adds up. :)
I probably won't have a reunion since I went to a tiny international school in South America and now my classmates and I are all living in different places all around the world. :)

  14. Mine is in 2 years, and it IS hard to believe. My hubby and I are both 26 and until a couple years ago I still thought of myself as "right out of high school" , especially since we got married when we were 19. But one day it hit me...we AREN'T. It freaked me out at first, but then I saw some "kids" that really were "right out of high school" one night when we were going to see a movie and thought to myself...thank God! lol

    Go...have fun!

  15. Its about ten years since I left school too but haven't heard anything about a reunion...not yet anyway! I don't know whether I'd go or not as I had such a awful time at school. I only see two people from school that are still my best friends but thats it. I guess it just brings back memories of not 'fitting' in at school haha!

I think you should go and have fun! :)

  16. I graduated in 2004 so mine is next year! Can't believe it's been ten years either. I'm still close with my close friends and I keep up with everyone who has kids like me through Facebook so it'll be fun. Plus I think my husband is a babe so can't wait to show him off :)
